Northern Arizona University's Graduate English Organization is honored to welcome this year's student keynote speaker for the 2024 PEAKS Interdisciplinary Conference:
Lizzy Hanks Lizzy Hanks (she/her) is a PHD student here at NAU pursuing her doctorate in Applied Linguistics. With an interest in idiolect, an individual's distinctive style of speech, Lizzy will specifically be talking about how conversational language is an ephemeral yet insightful window into an individual's lived experiences. Currently, Lizzy is working on compiling the Lancaster-Northern Arizona Corpus of American Spoken English (LANA-CASE) with a team of researchers from Lancaster University and Northern Arizona University.
